Every Child Our Future is proud to announce the launch of Coffee & Chapters, a new initiative developed in partnership with local cafés as part of the charity’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Coffee & Chapters brings together a love of reading, community connection, and support for local businesses. The campaign encourages Islanders to slow down, pick up a book, and enjoy time in participating cafés while supporting literacy across the Island

As part of the initiative, participating cafés have agreed to donate 10p from every coffee sold during a chosen month to Every Child Our Future. Funds raised will support the charity’s ongoing work to improve literacy outcomes for children and young people.

The initiative will launch in February at The Potato Shack at Woodlands Farm, which reopens in the first week of February. Coffee & Chapters will then continue throughout the year with the following partners:

  • From March to May, Cafe Jac will offer a special drink as part of its spring menu.
  • From April to September, Portelet Bay Cafe will take part in the campaign.
  • In May, the Dolan Hotel Group will support the initiative across the Golden Sands Hotel, Sommerville Hotel, and Hotel Cristina.
  • In September, The Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel will join the campaign.

Islanders are encouraged to visit the participating venues, take a book, read, relax, and enjoy their surroundings, all while contributing to a cause that supports the charity and local businesses.

Cris Lakeman, Chief Executive Officer of Every Child Our Future, said,

“Coffee & Chapters is a simple but powerful way to encourage people to read for pleasure. By partnering with local cafés, we are celebrating the joy of reading while supporting businesses that are at the heart of Island life. As we mark our 10th anniversary, we are incredibly grateful to our partners and to everyone who takes part by enjoying a coffee and a good book.”
