This year we celebrate our tenth anniversary, marking a decade of work supporting children in Jersey. To begin the anniversary year, we are launching three activities that reflect our ongoing commitment to opportunity, literacy and community support.
The first initiative is The Big Book Giveaway, pledging to give away 10,000 children’s books, both new and preloved, over the course of the year. The books will be distributed through Every Child Our Future’s programmes, in partnership with other charities and at events such as REAL in the Park at the Jersey Festival of Words.
We will also launch 10 for 10 monthly giving, inviting supporters to donate £10 each month in honour of the charity’s tenth anniversary. Donations can be made through JerseyGiving, with regular supporters receiving updates and stories showing the impact of our contributions as we enter our next decade. Alongside this, we will support the rollout of Little Libraries across the island. Created by Rod Bryans, Little Library boxes will be placed in communities, allowing people to take or share books. Every Child Our Future will donate 10 children’s books to each library to start with and will top these up monthly.
Cris Lakeman, CEO of Every Child Our Future, said, “Reaching our tenth anniversary is a proud moment for everyone involved with the charity. These activities reflect what matters most to us, supporting children, encouraging a love of reading and working alongside our community as we look ahead to the next ten years.”
More information about the anniversary and how to get involved can be found on our website or by contacting the team directly. Supporters are also encouraged to keep an eye out for further activities and celebrations throughout 2026 as the charity marks this milestone year.
